We are offering the opportunity for side saddle riders of all abilities to take part in this clinic. We have available for the day both mechanical horses at Hartpury, one of which “jumps”. Both have mirrors situated around them to enhance the riders’ ability to visualise what they are doing.

This is an ideal opportunity to have a brush-up pre-season for the more experienced riders, with the chance to focus on your posture, straightness and seat. Alternatively, you may choose to practise your jumping technique in a safe environment where you can select the height of the jumps that you do. It is also suitable for an introduction lesson to the art of side saddle riding for the complete novice or newcomer.

Sessions will be tailored to your needs and you may even prefer to bring your own saddle to use on the “horse” so that your position can be fine-tuned on your own saddle.

You may choose to have a flatwork lesson or a jumping lesson or both. Lessons are £30 for a half hour session. The jumping lessons will be taught by Peta Roberts and the flatwork lessons by Penny Clarke.

As demand is expected to be high for these lessons, we recommend booking early and we will try to accommodate preferences for times on the day. In the event of there being more demand than there are places, preference will be given to SSA Area 14 members.
